Privacy policy

1. Release 1 is local-first

WinByBit Inc. (“WinByBit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), an Ontario, Canada corporation, publishes Ghost Dime. This policy describes Release 1 of the iPhone app.

Ghost Dime stores the information you create in the app’s local data store on your iPhone. When iCloud is available, approved user-owned data automatically synchronizes through your private iCloud database. Private iCloud synchronization is available to both Free and Premium users.

This can make synchronized information available after reinstalling the app or on another supported iPhone using the same Apple Account. Local app functionality remains available when iCloud is unavailable, disabled, signed out, delayed, full, or experiencing an error.

Release 1 does not create a Ghost Dime or WinByBit user account; upload your subscription library to a WinByBit-operated user-data server; provide public CloudKit records, household sharing, or collaborative accounts; connect to bank accounts; scan email or receipts; import purchase history; or include third-party advertising, behavioral tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs.

Apple-provided diagnostics may be available to WinByBit according to your device settings and Apple’s practices.

2. Information stored locally and in private iCloud

Depending on what you enter or enable, information stored locally and approved for private iCloud synchronization can include:

• User-entered service and plan names, categories, prices, currencies, billing frequency, renewal dates, trial dates, and price history.
• Notes, archive and cancellation status, reminder preferences, and related record details.
• Saved Scenario Lab scenarios, subscription-review decisions, price-impact records, and confirmed-change records.
• Home country, display currency, budget, and other approved synchronized preferences.

Do not store passwords, complete payment-card information, authentication codes, government identifiers, or other sensitive credentials in notes.

3. Private iCloud synchronization, recovery, and deletion

Private iCloud synchronization is operated through Apple and uses the Apple Account configured on the device. Synchronized records reside in the user’s private CloudKit database and are not public. Ghost Dime does not provide public records, household sharing, or collaboration.

Synchronization can be delayed or unavailable because of network, Apple Account, iCloud storage quota, device settings, or Apple service conditions. Ghost Dime does not promise immediate synchronization or an exact completion time. Recovery is complete only after the expected records become visible in the app.

Uninstalling Ghost Dime removes the local app copy but is not a request to delete its private iCloud data. Reinstalling with the same Apple Account may restore previously synchronized information when iCloud is available.

Deleting an individual record propagates through synchronization. “Delete All Data” attempts to remove the complete user-owned Ghost Dime data graph from both the device and private iCloud. If the cloud portion cannot be completed, deletion may remain pending and the app can report that a retry is required.

WinByBit does not operate a separate user-data backend and does not receive your subscription library as part of ordinary support. Private CloudKit data is handled through Apple’s platform and access controls; this policy does not claim that access is technically impossible under every circumstance.

4. JSON backups and PDF reports

You can create a versioned JSON backup containing locally owned records and preferences. Premium entitlement is not included. Imports validate compatible information before inserting records and do not overwrite conflicts.

Premium PDF spending reports are generated on your device. Ghost Dime does not upload JSON backups or PDF report data to WinByBit. A copy leaves the app only when you choose a save or sharing destination.

You are responsible for protecting and separately deleting exported copies from Files, cloud drives, email, messages, other devices, or any destination you selected.

5. Notifications

If you explicitly enable a supported reminder and grant iOS notification permission, Ghost Dime can schedule local notifications based on dates and changes saved in the app. Free users can enable basic reminders on up to three active services. Premium users can enable reminders on every active service and use applicable advanced follow-ups.

A notification may identify a service when useful, but it is brief and never displays a monetary amount or currency. Lock-screen visibility depends on your iOS preview settings, and delivery timing is controlled by iOS.

6. Premium purchases and Apple

Apple processes monthly and annual Premium purchases through StoreKit. Apple handles payment credentials, billing, renewal, refunds, trial eligibility, purchase verification, and Apple Account subscription management. WinByBit does not receive full payment-card information through the app.

Restore Purchases asks Apple to refresh eligible Premium entitlement. It does not start or complete private iCloud synchronization. Synchronized user-owned data may become available separately when iCloud is available and the app is using the same Apple Account.

7. Exchange-rate requests

When Ghost Dime needs to estimate totals across currencies, it requests a public USD-based exchange-rate table from open.er-api.com. The fixed request does not include subscription records, notes, saved prices, selected home region, an account ID, or an app-supplied device identifier.

The provider and supporting network infrastructure can receive ordinary connection information such as a public IP address, request time, protocol information, and operating-system-supplied user-agent details. Their own practices govern that processing.

The rate table and update time are cached locally, normally about once per day. An identified older set may be used offline. Exchange rates and converted totals are estimates, not provider checkout prices or financial advice.

8. User-entered service names and external links

Release 1 uses service and plan names entered by the user. Ghost Dime does not perform a remote provider catalogue lookup. References to a service are for identification and subscription-management purposes and do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation. User-entered service names and prices are not verified by the named provider.

If you choose an external source, provider, support, contact, or legal link, your browser or another app connects to that destination and its privacy practices apply.

9. Support and privacy correspondence

If you email support@winbybit.com, privacy@winbybit.com, or contact WinByBit through the website, we receive the address, content, and ordinary metadata you choose to provide.

We retain correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain appropriate business records, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Website hosting and Google Workspace business email providers may process the limited information needed to host pages and deliver correspondence.

10. Your controls

You can export a backup; edit, archive, restore, or permanently delete individual records; use Delete All Data; turn reminders off; change iOS notification permission; and uninstall the app.

App controls do not delete JSON backups, PDFs, other exported files, or correspondence held outside the app. You must delete those separate copies wherever you saved or shared them.

11. Children and general audience

Ghost Dime is a general-audience subscription-management utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly provide child profiles, social features, advertising, or account creation.

12. International availability

WinByBit is based in Canada. Release 1 is not offered in European Union storefronts or mainland China. Availability in another App Store country or region does not mean every feature, currency, or external service is available there.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Ghost Dime’s features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The current policy will show a new effective date, and additional notice will be provided where appropriate or required.
